Not only are Karen Treseder’s kids joining the tapestry, but they are also caring for the eels in their schoolyard stream, studying eels’ biology and making eel sock puppets to share Velvet’s story with others!  A special “Thank You” to the class for the koha which will help get the tapestry and eel story to other kids in New Zealand.

Karen: A wise and vivacious teacher.... but calm in the eye of the puppet storm.

A fantastically inaginative longfin... shown with pride.

A hanging hinake (net) for learning about how eels are caught... notice balloon eel inside.

Tuna Trio.
