Paroa School Kids Share Exciting Stories and Gold Coin Koha to Help Eels

Writer's picture: Chica JoChica Jo

Priscilla and Jody’s juniors may be young, but they had many eel stories to share.

Some of the "big girls" that the Paroa kids will visit next week at Hokitika's National Kiwi Center

Many of these kids discovered that they were chosen by a tuna kuwharuwharu to be its special guardian.  We are so glad they will be part of Velvet’s Travelling Tuna Tapestry as it migrates around New Zealand, to Tonga, and back!

Is the Eel Woman starting to take on the looks of an eel? : )

“Thanks” to the kids for the koha, as it will help get the tapestry to other schools around NZ.
